We understand how much your smile means to you. People often notice your smile first when they meet you. A whiter, brighter smile can boost your confidence and help you feel great about yourself. However, factors such as coffee, tea, red wine, cola, smoking, and even past health issues or aging can cause teeth to appear stained or dull. Poor dental care, past injury, or taking antibiotics as a child can also lead to discolouration. At Tooth Suite, we want you to smile with confidence. That’s why we offer professional teeth whitening to help you get the bright, beautiful smile you’ve always wanted.
Teeth whitening is a simple and safe dental treatment that makes your natural teeth look whiter and brighter. It’s an easy way to enhance your smile.
Many people today want whiter teeth, and there are various ways to achieve this. One of the most common methods is using a take-home whitening kit, which can make a significant difference in your tooth colour.
Teeth whitening only works on natural teeth, not on items such as old fillings or crowns. So, after your teeth are whitened, your dentist may need to replace any old dental work to match your new, brighter smile.
It is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed every several years, and more often if you smoke or drink coffee, tea, cola, or wine.
Reasons for teeth whitening:
Take Home Teeth Whitening
Take-home whitening kits are a safe and easy way to remove stains from your teeth at home with professional results. You’ll need to visit the dentist twice. At your first visit, we make a copy of your teeth to create clear trays just for you. During the second visit, we check if the trays fit correctly and fix them if needed.
You’ll use the trays by applying the whitening gel and wearing them either two times a day for 30 minutes or overnight for a few weeks. This depends on how stained your teeth are and how white you want them to be. It’s normal to feel a bit of sensitivity while using the whitening gel, but it usually goes away soon after you finish the treatment.
You will receive care instructions for your teeth and trays, and you will be encouraged to visit your dentist regularly to help maintain a beautiful, healthy, white smile.
In-Office Teeth Whitening
This procedure is carried out by your dentist and typically takes approximately 60 minutes. Your dentist will cover up the lips and gums, leaving only the teeth exposed. Hydrogen peroxide whitening gel will then be applied to the teeth. The gel is exposed to special LED light and works to break the discoloration. The gel is left on for 15 minutes, and the procedure is repeated three to four times.
Hydrogen peroxide removes stains by breaking down the carbon bonds that cause them to form. During the treatment, an LED light is used, and its level can be adjusted to reduce sensitivity and achieve the desired level of whitening. If you experience any discomfort afterward, it usually subsides soon.
